WILLIAM RONALD GREEAR
William Ronald "Ron" GREEAR , age 71, died Sept. 29, 2008, after a long illness.
He was born on Nov. 14, 1936, in Brookfield, Missouri, to Dr. D.C. and Enid Greear. After graduating from Bucklin (MO) High School in 1954, he attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. Soon after attending college, he moved to Kansas City where he met and married his wife, Freda (Hays) Greear.
Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was stationed in New York and Okinawa, Japan, during his military service. After his discharge from the Army, he moved his family to Loveland in 1965, where he began his career with Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies. He later retired from HP and Agilent after being employed for over 30 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. Ron also spent many summers volunteering as a coach for various youth league baseball teams in Loveland and, in addition, was an active adviser with the Loveland Junior Achievement program sponsored by Hewlett-Packard.
Ron is survived by his wife, Freda; sons, Greg Greear of Loveland, and Mike Greear and wife Dawn of Eagle, Colorado; and daughter, Ronda Jolls and husband Rick of Norman, Oklahoma; as well as three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Viegut Funeral Home with military honors following. A reception will follow the memorial service at Viegut Funeral Home Reception Center.
Inurnment at the columbariums at Loveland Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Ron's name to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80538.
