John Henry Lees, 80, of Jena, died at 2:25 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2000, at the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
He was a retired postal service employee, a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Jena, a member of Michael Dempsey lodge #327 F&AM, and a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was born June 24, 1919, in Catahoula Parish to the union of William and Sallie Edwards Lees.
Services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 9, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with the Revs. Byron Norris and Albert Vickers officiating.
Interment followed in the Jena Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens Inc. of Jena.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Kay Neely of Jena and Sallie Allen of Deville; two sisters, Rita Farley of Jena and Jewell Breithaupt of Winnfield; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
