Mr. John Baptiste Delmas died in this city Wednesday morning at 12:15 o'clock, aged ninety years and three months. He was born in Pascagoula, his parents being Valentine Delmas and Josephine Krebs. Mr. Delmas was educated by a private tutor, and from the knowledge imparted to him he became a successful man of business.
Eight children survive him, they being as follows: Mrs. O.E. Foster, Valentine, J.C., A.G., J.F., C.H., I.P. and Miss Isabella K. Delmas. Thirty-two grand children and fourteen great-grand children are the other relatives left to mourn his death.
The funeral took place from the Catholic church at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, Rev. Father James McGuire officiating in the last sad rites. Interment being made in the Pascagoula Catholic cemetery. Mr. Delmas led an exemplary life and was esteemed by everyone who knew him. To the family we extent sincere sympathy in their hour of sorrow.
