Mr. Delmas was a member of one of Pascagoula's oldest families, the second eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Delmas who reared a family of eleven children, and who have been in the forefront in all phases of life for the good and growth of the city. He served in the Confederate army, and returning to his home engaged in river work, being for years master of a steam tug. He was never married.
