Funeral Mass for Navolina Maria Salcido, 80 of Grants, will be held Oct. 10, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant. A Rosary was held Oct. 9, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the church.
Navolina was born on Nov. 15, 1927, in Sena and passed away on Oct. 8, 2008, in Grants.
She was a devoted wife and mother all of her life. She married Frank Salcido on Aug. 12 1946, in Grants and was married for 61 years. Frank passed away on Feb. 8, 2008.
She is survived by her children: Beatrice Chavez and husband Salvador of Grants, Annie Lopez and husband Clifford of Grants, Frank Salcido, Jr. and wife Irene of Grants, Connie Knox and husband Norman of Rio Rancho, Gilbert Salcido of Grants and Alice Salcido of Grants; brother: Bernie Gonzales and wife Teressa of Rio Rancho; sisters: Nia Villegos of Grants, Carmen Gonzales and husband Joe of Milan and Adlina Ballard and husband Clifford of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Frank Salcido, Sr.; parents: Antonio Gonzales and Saneida Griego Gonzales; brothers: Johnny Gonzales, Bennie Gonzales, Tim Gonzales and Tony Gonzales; sister: Rita Molena; grandson: Richard Lopez.
