GRANTS — Funeral Mass for Frank Salcido Sr., 86, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will be at Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate. A rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Salcido died Feb. 8, 2008, in Grants. He was born Jan. 29, 1922, in McGaffey.

Salcido was a veteran of World War II and served with the US Navy. He has been in Grants since 1938. Salcido worked for Adams for 30 years, Anaconda for six years and was the assistant manager at Anthony's for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Navolina Salcido of Grants; daughters, Beatrice Chavez of Grants, Annie Lopez of Grants, Connie Knox of Rio Rancho, Alice Salcido of Grants; sons, Frank Salcido Jr. of Grants, Gilbert Salcido of Grants; brothers, Billy Salcido of San Rafael, Wilford Salcido of Grants; sisters, Martina Candelaria of Grants, Angie Villijos of Grants, Patty Ogden of Grants, Jean Kayler of Grants, Lucy Woody of Alamogordo, 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Salcido was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Patroncina Salcido; grandson, Richard Lopez; sister, Susie Tagnigne; brother, Simon Salcido.

Pallbearers will be Victor Lopez, Salvador Chavez, Dominic Salcido, Jeremy Salcido, Eugene Chavez, and Tim Knox.
