Mrs. Benson LANGLEY, S. C. - Mrs. Ella Pennington Walker Benson, 74, of 6 Robinson St., died Monday in an Augusta hospital after and extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Mason, W. M. Corley and Bill Reese officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a native of Windsor, S. C., and had lived in Langley for 22 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Eugenia Stringfield Pennigton, and was the widow of Millidge G. Benson. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Surviviors include five daghters, Mrs. Julia Graves, Mrs. Janice Boyd, Mrs. Claudine Parrish, all of Langley, Mrs. Odessa Walters, Grand Bay, Ala., Mrs. Elise Stinson, Beech Island, S. C.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gracie Kensy, Augusta, Mrs. Irene Barton, both of Augusta; six sisters, Mrs. Julia P. Smith, Mrs. Nancy McNeely, both of Atlanta, Mrs. Effie Lassen, New Orleans, La., Mrs. Ethel Knight, Langley, Mrs. Nanna Lee Herlong, Greenville, S. C. and Mrs. Ruby Phillips, Cannon, Ga.; two brothers, Woodrow Pennington and Anderson Pennington, both of Windsor, S. C.; 21 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Friends may call at Posy Funeral Home, Langley, until 3 p.m. Wednesday and then at the church.
