Cornelius "Neal" Benson, 84, of Langley, SC, husband of fifty-seven years to the late Mrs. Mary Feagin Benson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in the comfort of his home, on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
Born in Richmond County, GA and a former resident of Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Milledge G. and Ella Pennington Walker Benson.
He retired form Biggers Brothers Produce where he was a Supervisor and was a member of Bible Faith Holiness Church. "Neal" as he was known to his friends or "Pop", as he was known to his boys, enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. More than anything however, he enjoyed caring for his son, "JJ".
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include, children, Larry Neal Benson and his wife, Jo Ellen, Walhalla, SC, Michael Francis Benson and his wife, Kathy, Windsor, SC, Dennis Mark Benson, Burnettown, SC, Patricia Benson Moyer and her husband, Pastor Eddie, Langley, SC, Dana Lynn Benson, Orlando, FL, John Jay "JJ" Benson, Langley, SC, the late Gary Wayne, Benson and his wife, Dianne, Fort Mill, SC and the late Angela Elaine Benson, several siblings who preceded him in death, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bath, SC.
