Funeral services have been tentatively set for 11 a. m. Friday at the Fuqua Funeral Home, pending the arrival of a son now serving in the Navy. Burial will follow at Fort Donelson National Cemetery at Dover, Tenn.
Mr. Vance, a native of Georgetown, Ky., had been suffering from asthma and a mild heart condition, but his death last night was completely unexpected.
He had been on the job at the VFW during the day and was stricken just as he arrived at his home for dinner. He died within minutes despite efforts by the Fire Department emergency squad and a physician to revive him.
Mr Vance was a World War II Navy veteran and was an active member of the Masons, the VFW, and the DAV.
Survivors, in addition to the son, include the widow, Mrs. Lucille Vance.
The body Is resting at the Fuqua Funeral Home.
