Willam was an actor in Philadelphia and performed at the Arch Street and Walnut Theaters with many artists including Mrs. John Drew. He was also a comedian, singer and writer performing with his wife Nellie.
After William's death Nellie performed from Pennsylvania to Illinois in a variety of companies supporting herself and her young son William. In 1899 she married Wilson Evans and settled in Illinois - for a while.
It was Wilson's second marriage and he died on May 26, 1907 and was buried in Newark.
Nellie, her son William and his family moved west and had homesteads in Montana from 1915 until the mid 1920's. They were not successful in their farming endeavor and lost the homesteads in the mid 1920's.
Nellie lived with her son William and his wife Myrtle in her later life. She was a resident of the Old Ladies Home in Aurora, Illinois when she passed.
