Emmett was the youngest of the three sons of Jeremiah and Emily Marana (Parker) Campbell. He married Kittie Townsend in 1874 at Dickersonville Methodist Church, Ridge Road in Lewiston, New York. They had three daughters and one son spaced over an 18 year period. Emmett took over the family farm in Lewiston and passed it down to his youngest child Erwin.
