Mrs. Agnes Morancy McKee, 97, died February 8, 1947 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John W. Gilbert, in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. She was the widow of Dr. John Robert McKee and had lived with her daughter for the past few years. She was a native of Madison Parish, Louisiana, and a daughter of the late Dr. F. E. and Bettie White Morancy. After marrying Dr. McKee, she went to live at the McKee homestead, Forest Home, at McKee's Crossroads on the Frankfort Pike. She continued to make her home there until after the death of her son, Frank McKee. Her husband had inherited the place from his father, James McKee, who had built the dwelling house prior to the War Between The States. Dr. McKee died in 1921. He and Mrs. McKee were the parents of five children, Dr. Emilius, James and Frank McKee, Mrs. Bettie Foreman and Mrs. Agnes Gilbert. The first four named preceded their mother in death. Mrs. McKee is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery.
