Aretta Collins Attkisson, age 97, of Ethridge, TN, died Tuesday, Jun. 20, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. She was a native of Lawrence Co., TN, a homemaker, and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late William and Eveline Copeland Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buford Attkisson, and one son, T.C Attkisson.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Faulkner of Ethridge, TN and Nell Grimes of Ethridge, TN. Two sons, Buck Attkisson of Summertown, TN and Milton Attkisson of Ethridge, TN. Eleven grandchildren. Twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Sixteen great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:30 PM Thursday, Jun. 22, 2006, with Bobby Belew officiating. Interment followed in Chapel Grove Cemetery in Lawrence Co., TN.
