One of five children born to Christopher Columbus and Anna Jarvis (Green) Bohler. She married Edgar Nelson Carlton on August 23, 1905 at Shreveport, LA. They had two sons Edgar Nelson Jr. and Francis Leon, who died at three months of age.

Obituary in The Shreveport Journal November 25, 1963:

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Bohler Carlton, 83, of 2601 Lillian St., who died Friday at Highland Hospital after a brief illness, were held Sunday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Conducting the rites was the Rev. Howard Johnson, pastor of Central Christian Church. Burial was in Forest Park.

Mrs. Carlton was a native of Woodlawn, Tex., and had lived here for the past 60 years. She was the oldest member of the Central Christian Church and a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class.
