H. Gordon (Slim) Winans, 73, of 10 Crossman St., died Wednesday morning (Jan. 15, 1969) at his home. Mr. Winans was a retired roofer and in previous years had been employed as a boilermaker.
He was born April 23, 1895, in Kellettvllle, Pa., a son of Boyd and Minerva Zundel Winans. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Florence Quinn, Jamestown; Mrs. Ruby Fox, Sinclairville; Mrs. Ruth Strong and Mrs. Grace Zettle, both of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother, Francis Winans, Kimball Stand.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Boyd Funeral Home. The Rev. Edwin F. Armitage pastor of Celoron Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Boyd's.
