Arthur Park Fullerton was born March 10, 1827 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the son of David Parke, a labourer. At the time of his marriage (23 October 1851) Arthur was resident in the townland of Clontonakelly, County Down and working as a teacher. Arthur & His wife Margaret Clarke immigrated to the United States sometime after 1851, settling in North Bergen, Hudson, New Jersey, Hoboken, where he was a Tobacconist. After having 2 sons and a daughter, James, William & Isabella, Arthur and family migrated to the Prairies of Kansas. Arthur became a farmer, homesteading 80 acres, growing wheat and corn, he raised a few cattle, had a couple of milking cows, and oxen for the farm work. Arthur & Margaret had two more children twins Sarah and Eliza. Arthur was an educated man whom also started schooling the children on the praire and was one of the first teachers. Arthur continued farming the prairies of Kansas until his death in 1904.

Gravesite Details

Located six and one half miles north of Green, Kansas. This Cemetery is on the southeast corner of the orginal Appleton Homestead.
