THREE DESOTO COUNTY MEN DIE OF INFLUENZA;

ARCADIA,Oct. 9.---(Special)---George Rowan, who for some time past has been conducting a fish market here the Ever-ready garage, died Monday night, the first victim of Spanish influenza in town. Mr. Rowan had been working at one of the camps in the north where he contracted the disease. He came home at once and in a short time his disease proved fatal. He was about fifty-five years of age, and leaves a wife and two or three children.

Ben Rowan, a son of Richard Rowan who resides in the country, died a few days ago at Camp Seviers, and his body will be brought home for burial. He was one of the selects from this county. The cause of his death was pneumonia following an attack of Spanish influenza. The home guards will take him home and give this young soldier a military funeral.

Another death of an Arcadia man is reported from Muscle Shoals, Ala., where several limited service men have gone to work for the government. F.J. Sharp, a son of W.H. Sharp and well known in this section, died Tuesday, and his body will reach home today or tomorrow. Mr. Sharp was a member of the Woodmen, and that lodge will have charge of the burial of their comrade.
