GREENSBORO — Mrs. Billie Kenyon Stedman, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 4, at College Place United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Herin officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

Billie was born September 25, 1919, in Orange County, N.C., to the late Van and Irene Kenyon. She graduated from Curry High School and attended UNC College. From the mid-60s through the mid-80s, Billie worked as the office manager at the Guilford County Board of Elections. She made many life long friends there. She had been a member of College Place United Methodist Church since 1940.

Billie was a huge animal lover and enjoyed music and dancing. She loved people and most of all her family.

Mrs. Stedman was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Stedman; sisters, Elva Wood, Faye Lamb, Madge Maree, and brothers, Charles Kenyon and Van Kenyon, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Stedman of Randolph Co., Gayle Stedman of Morganton; and son, R. Burke Stedman, Jr. of Patrick Co., Va. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
