He was born April 2, 1893, near Blandinsville, Illinois, the son of Charles W. and Lucy White Hainline.
On June 10, 1915, at Keosauqua, he married Cordelia Faye Kerr who survives.
A resident of Van Buren county since 1918, he was a laborer and former employee of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Burlington. He was a member of Order No. 22 I.O.O.F. at Bonaparte.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Bruce Hainline of Bonaparte; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Agnes) Grabeal of Rising Sun, Md.; Mrs. Marvin (Marcelene) Nelson of Merrill, Ia.; Mrs. Madge Diephuis and Mrs. William (Garnett) Pratt, both of Bonaparte; one brother, Revia Hainline of West Burlington; and one sister, Mrs. Callie Sly of West Point, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
The funeral service will be Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. in the Bonaparte Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Ogden officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
The body was removed at noon Wednesday from Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington and taken to the Carl Wilson Reposing Home, Bonaparte, to lie in state until time of service.
