Mrs. Nancy Adams, 76 years old, died last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claude Pefley of near Jessup.
Mrs. Adams, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Ann Sale Hawkins, was born at Roseville on December 5, 1861. She lived with relatives in Kentucky for several years where she was a member of the Baptist church at New Liberty, KY. When she returned to Indiana she changed her membership to the Friendly Grove Baptist church, where she was a faithful and active member. She was united in marriage to Silas V. Adams on March 28, 1886.
She is survived by five sons, Raymond of Boulder, Ill., Ared and Edgar of Rosedale, Noel of Carmel and Richard of near Bridgeton; the daughter, Mrs. Pefley, 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at the Friendly Grove Baptist church, with the Rev. William McKeehan officiating. Burial was in the Adams cemetery.
