Services for Clyde Bedford, 88 of Grapeland, will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Grapeland with Dan Manual officiating. Burial will be in Guiceland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Bedford died Friday at his residence. He was born March 5, 1918 in Port Arthur to Peter Bedford and Willie Thompson Bedford Caskey
Mr. Bedford was a member of Midway Church of Christ for sixty years and an Army Warrant Officer during WWII.
Mr. Bedford was a rural mail carrier for 35-years and a rancher and cattleman.
Mr. Bedford was preceded in death by his parents, first wife of 46-years, Sue Denman Bedford who died in 1993, a sister and a brother.
He is survived by his wife Billie Owens Bedford of Grapeland, daughter Martha Tompkins and husband Phil of Pearland, grandson Todd Tompkins of Houston, sister Helen Holland of South Carolina and three step-daughters: Karen Hankins, Cathy Young and Cindy Hutson.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Cunningham, Frank Chapman, Barret Sanders, Loyd Dickey, Don Young and Joe Daniels.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
