Confederate Veteran Dies
Okemah, March 25--E. W. Bruton, 76 years old, ex-Confederate soldier and one of the old settlers of Indian territory and Okfuskee county, died at his home near here Tuesday and was buried in Highland cemetery Thursday afternoon. Rev. G. W. Ray conducted the services at the home and the local Masonic lodge had charge of the ceremonies at the cemetery. Mr. Bruton was born and reared in Georgia and served in a Georgia regiment during the Civil war. He leaves a wife and five small children at home.
