Lucretia Basheba was first married to Mr. Blount, we don't know his first name. On her Texas Entrance Papers, Basheba Blount is shown as a Widow with a Baby (which was Green Albert Blount) They came with her Family to Angelina County Texas prior to 1835. There grants were located in the Lorenzo De Zavalla Colony.
There were 3 Stanley Sibblings who Married 3 Cheairs Siblings:
1-Steven Jefferson Stanley JR. Married Mary Ann Cheairs,
2-William Carroll Stanley Married Margret Rebbecca Cheairs.
3-Basheba Stanley Blount married John Francis Cheairs JR. (about1836) John Francis fought at the Battle of San Jacinto He died Dec.-25-1852 in Angelina Co. TX. and is probable buried in the Johnson- Stanley Cemetery in Zavalla, Tx. near his Wife's Parents and his Sister Margaret Rebbeca Cheairs Stanley. After John's Death Lucretia moved to Porter,Montgomery County TX.She lived her remaining days on property near the Enloe Cemetery.
Basheba had 6 Children 5 of which were born to Her and John Francis Cheairs JR.
1- Samantha Marelda born-1838, Texas she married Kyle Grundy Needham on Jan.-8-1858 in Angelina Co. Tx. she died in June 1910, in Montgomery CO. TX.
2- John C. Cheairs born in Angelina Co. TX.
3-Mary Ann Talitha born- 1842 who married Stephen S. Stanley on April-16-1859, in Angelina County TX.this marriage caused some confusion a few years back as there were several Stephen Stanleys, but it was indeed her 1st. Cousin she married.
I am sure that Mary Ann was named in Honor of her Aunt Mary Ann Cheairs Stanley, ( my GGG grand Mother ) then in later years Mary Ann Talitha much to her family surprise would turn arround and marry a Stanley.( Basheba's brother Wiliford's son).
4- Elizabeth Stanley Cheairs Born- April-15-1846 she married J.W. Robinson, Elizabeth died on Feb.-4-1918 and is buried in Enloe Cemetery in Porter, Tx.
5- Stephen F. Cheairs born-1849. He married Julia Catherine " Kate " Porter. Stephen was buried near his Mother, at Enloe Cemetery.
I am very glad to have this Memorial Site for my G.G.G. Aunt Basheba and will be adding lots more on Her site soon.
