Annie died after being struck by a car on the highway while walking home from a dance. She was walking from the Bon Ton Dance Hall, accompanied by Elmer Hardy, when struck by the car. Both of them died almost instantly. The accident happened between Third and Fourth South Streets on Highway 91, alternate route.
