Maryann was the fifth of eight children of Roger Anderson and Catherine Dunn(e). She was born in the townland of Derrycricket in the north-central part of the Catholic Parish of Clonbullogue, which is in northeastern Offaly. Derrycricket is in the Superintendant Registrar's District of Edenderry. She came to the US prior to her marriage to John Curran in 1888 at St Bridget's Church in Falls of Schuylkill, Philadelphia. She and John had two sons, but John died at the age of 27 after being hit by a train. Maryann later married Edward McCauley of Philadelphia and they had three children. They lived at Ann Street and Cedar Street in Philadelphia before moving to 3129 Aramingo Avenue where they lived for many years. She died in Philadelphia at the age of 88.
