Mary Iva Davenport, 97, of Dewville, Texas, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, in Seguin.

She was born in Stockdale to Horry and Emma Lou Leticia Luker McKinny on Aug. 19, 1909.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Trueman Alvie Davenport; five brothers, Cecil, Bill, Durwood, Elmer, and Clyde McKinny; two sisters, Gladys Leck and Eva Cowey; and a son-in-law, Bob Day.

She is survived by two daughters, Joy Day of Nixon and Lanelle Koliba and husband Erwin of Port Lavaca; three grandsons, Henry Paul Dingler and wife Pat, Curt Day, and Chris Day and wife Leslie; two great-grandchildren, Dillon Lane Dingler and Hanan Jaks Day; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Viewing and visitation were held in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon on Tuesday, May 1, from 1-8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Hessong officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dewville Cemetery in Dewville. Serving as pallbearers will be Curt Day, Chris Day, Henry Paul Dingler, Alton Cowey, Marvin Wayne Hester, and J.W. Reneau.
