Elizabeth was the wife of Richard Ashcraft (ca. 1740-1792) who served in the French & Indian Wars. Richard was also a spy and a scout in the Revolutionary War, sometimes teaming with his brother-in-law Thomas Carr who may be the same Thomas Carr buried here. Richard Ashcraft died from exposure after his horse fell through the ice while crossing a stream at Chamber's Mill, Pennsylvania in 1792.
