She married Jerome L. Knight, on June 13, 1969. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Knight worked at Parsons State Hospital from 1951 to 1986. At the time of her retirement, she was secretary to the superintendent. She moved to Joplin in 1989.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Freeman Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, son Rodney Long, daughter Jennifer E. Edison, step-sons Wayne Knight & Glen Kelly, step-daughters Selina Smith & Stephanie Machado, brother Fred McMillan, sisters Lois Blake, Bernieta Fincher, Maxine Long & Betty Ruth McMillan & 17 grandchildren.
