Church Hill - Carter Smith, 55, died at Holston Valley Community Hospital at 10am Wednesday (Dec. 29, 1965).
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Smith; four daughters, Mrs. Ada McMurray, Marion, Ind., Mrs. Wanda Ward, Surgoinsville, Mrs. Louise Christian, and Mrs. Sheila Smith, both of Church Hill; two sons, Ronnie and Richard, both of Church Hill; one brother Sydney Smith, Church Hill; Five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Brewer and Mrs. Burley Ward, both of Surgoinsville, Mrs. Mae Brewer, Mrs. Ophie Arnold, and Mrs. Sylvia Smith, all of Church Hill; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2pm Friday at Christians Bend Baptist Church. Rev. Lloyd Light and Rev. Wrightly Salling will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
