MONROE — Funeral services for Edna B. Hooton were conducted Monday in the L. D. S. South ward chapel. Mrs. Hooton died Friday morning following a five year illness.
Mrs. Hooton was born in Monroe on August 18, 1801, a daughter of Nephi J. and Sarah Sprague Bates, She was married to Ephralm L. Hooton of Central on June 14. 1911.
Besides her hushand, the following survlve: Six sons and daughters, Frank Hooton of Ogden, Mrs. Ralph Horton and Forest Hooton of Salt Lake City, Rex, Clell, and Mavis Hooton of Monroe, four grandchildren. her mother, and nine brothers and sisters: N. J. Bates of Richfield, Mrs. Annie Barkdull, Mrs. Mable Martin and Lee Bates of Pocatello, Idaho, George S. Bates of Logan. Harvey Bates of Los Angeles, Marion Bates of San Diego, Mrs. Niels L. Nielsen of Lake View, Oregon and Mrs. L. W. Jones of Monroe.
Burial was in the Monroe city cemetery where Judge N. J. Bates dedicated the grave.
