Louise C. Rowden, age 81, of Meta, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Arkansas on October 10, 1926, daughter of John and Ethia (Heart) Clark. In March 1941, in Miller County, she was married to Hurbert V. Rowden, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of Lighthouse Worship Center near Dixon.

Survivors include three sons, Dale Rowden and wife Sandy of St. Elizabeth, Gary Rowden and wife Debbie of Mountain View, and Ralph Rowden and wife Annie of Iberia; two daughters, Myrlea Mattocks and husband Lloyd of Meta, and Joyce Alexander and husband Steve of Lohman; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Hilkemeyer and husband Rick of Freeburg; one sister, Lillie Hollis of Vienna; one brother, George Clark of Meta; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Rowden; one granddaughter, Stephanie Dawn Rowden; one son-in-law, Curt Farrow, three sisters, Myrtle, Bertha, and Mary; two brothers, Clarence and Bill; and three infant siblings.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Lloyd Mattocks will officiate. Interment will be in Brays Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
