Alvin Archer, 68, died in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, at 9:30 Sunday evening, where he had been a patient and where he underwent an operation for appendicitis about two weeks ago. Mr. Archer was clerk of the Davenport house in this village for the past two years. He had spent most of his life in this vicinity. He was born in the town of Martinsburg, Sept. 11, 1862, a son of the late
Zephaniah and Margaret Jones Archer. His wife, who was Miss Rosina Bellinger, is dead. The body was taken to the Virkler undertaking parlors in Lowville, but will be brought here for funeral services, the time not yet announced. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. George Snyder and Miss Louisa Archer, Copenhagen; a brother, Amby Archer, Lowville; two sons, Roy Archer, West Martinsburg, and
Hugh Archer, Barnes Corners; three nephews, Floyd Snyder, Copenhagen; Louis Archer, and Foster Archer, Lowville.
