Joseph Wilson Osman is the son of Israel Osman and Sarah Osman (nee Reitz). He was the fifth child born to them, having three sisters and five brothers, five of them dying in childhood. Joseph married Catherine Ann Fritz, daughter of Jesse H. Fritz II and Catherine Frantz (nee Killian). Joseph and Catherine had these children: Mary Martha (1900-1997) married Stabley; Joseph William Jr. (1902-1981) unmarried; Pearl Mae (1904-1973) married first Kelly, 2nd Keyser; Charles E. (1970-1971); Catherine (1916-1992) m. Dunning.

Chemung County; Joseph W. Osman, Sr., of 650 E. Water St., Wednesday, March 16, 1960. He was a retired Lackawanna Railroad car inspector. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Wallace Keyser and Mrs. John Stabley of Elmira and Mrs. Catherine Dunning of Frewsburg, N. Y.; sons, Joseph W. Jr. and Charles E. of Elmira; six granddaughters; sister, Mrs. Fred Farley of DuBois, Pa. Body at Kalec Funeral Home. Calling hours; today 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral there Friday at 2 p.m. Woodlawn Cemetery.
