Merrill Vinton Nipps was born July 1, 1895 to a Mr. W. H. Nipps and Sarah Alice Dunaway Nipps. He joined an older brother, Cecil Ray Nipps who had been born in 1893. Other siblings included a brother named Howard and a sister, who's husband was Lowell Martin.

Merrill first married Verna Iris Daughtery on July 1, 1916 and together they had two daughters: Eugenia F. Nipps born Jan 1918 and Marie A. Nipps born 1920.

Merrill later married Estelle Irene Crowder and was married to her until her death in 1975.

Merrill was a newspaper writer for a Springfield, Missouri newspaper.

Merrill Nipps-b. in Stockton MO; d. in Springfield MO. He left a major portion of their estate to the training of Methodist ministers.
Survived by a brother, Howard Nipps of Stockton MO and a sister, Mrs. Lowell Martin of Greenfield MO; daughters, Eugenia Swaim of Maywood IL and Marie Smith of St. Louis MO. He donated his body to Columbia University for research.

Note: I am not sure who Howard Nipps would be, and not sure about Ralph Nipps. Here are his half siblings:
