Boyd Extine Wilcox and Mary Sophronia Dayley Wilcox had four of their children die as infants. Sadly, they also left their surviving children as orphans at a very young age.
Both Boyd and his wife are buried in the Archer-Lyman cemetery (Sutton Cemetery).

Daughter Helen (Dot) said, "Uncle Dave was surely good to us after Father died. How sad we were! My mother's health failed fast after that and a year from the next February she left us, too, February 23, 1896. I never could understand why it had to be that way, but we have lived with good people – my mothers people, and they did all they could for us."
