ALGER, Jan.6 - Funeral for J. J. RUMBAUGH, Alger postmaster, and one of the leaders of the Republican party in Hardin-co., whose death occurred at his late home west of here after a long illness with heart trouble, was conducted Monday afternoon from the Alger Methodist Church with burial in the Preston Cemetery.
Prior to becoming Postmaster he was a school teacher and actively engaged in farming. For the two terms he served as a member of the board of elections in Hardin-co and was active in the Masonic lodge and the Methodist church.
He was born in Allen-co but had spent the greater part of his life in Hardin-co. Surviving are: The widow, a daughter, Mrs. Margaret RIEDY, at home; a brother, Jay RUMBAUGH of Alger; five sisters, Mrs. Ella GUDAKUNST, Mrs. J. C. DEMPSTER and Miss Vernie RUMBAUGH, all of Lima, Mrs. Charles MCCLURE of Oakwood and Mrs. W. H. HAYES of Marysville.
