Lillie Sheets Bare, age 98, of Old Hwy 16N, Millers Creek died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Avante of Wilkesboro.
Funeral services will be held 2:00, Monday, September 1, at Poplar Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Thomas and the Rev. Clayburn Roten officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial was in Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Glendale Springs. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Sunday night.
Ms. Bare was born in Wilkes County, January 25, 1910, to Matthew and Mary Bare Sheets. She was a member of Poplar Cove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bare was preceded in death by two sisters, Artie Wingler and Edie Belle Bowlin and four brothers, Wylie Sheets, Alonzo Sheets, Freeman Sheets, and Howard Sheets.
Ms. Bare is survived by one daughter, Pansy Roten of Millers Creek; four sisters, Lora Jane Sheets, Nora Wingler, Lena Hart, Nadine Roten of Millers Creek; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; two step great grandchildren; two step great, great grandchildren.
