Mr. Ervin Toney, 80, of 550 Evan Edwards Road, Ellenboro, died at Hospice House of Rutherford County. He was the son of the late Thomas Irvin and Rainey Waters Toney. Ervin was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather an avid hunter and gardener, member of the Armed Forced, a retired Corrections Officer with the Spindale Correction Center, and a member of Drury Dobbins Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Toney; and three sisters, Leatrice Henessee, Valaree Toney and Elizabeth Toney. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lillian Poole Toney; one son, Dale (Deborah) Toney of Ellenboro; two daughters, Anita (Daniel) Sny, and Angela (Dennis) Goodrich all of Ellenboro; two brothers, Gilbert Toney of Mooresboro, and Joe Toney of Shelby, one brother-in-law, Floyd Henessee of Hannahan, S.C.; grandchildren, Matthew Toney, Anna Goodrich, Anneliese Sny, Daniel Sny, David Sny, and Austin Goodrich; lifelong hunting friend Ernest Newton; and special care giver Nina Campbell. Funeral: Monday, Sept. 15, 2 p.m. at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church. Officiant The Revs. Philip Dunlap, George Whitmire and Alvin Allen
