John B. Alderson, 79, Springfield, was born in Cabool, Mo., and passed away July 25, 2007. He was a 1946 graduate of Mtn. Grove H.S., and earned a master's degree from Truman State Univ. in 1956. John served in the U.S. Air Force for three years, and had been employed as an Education Administrator. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a past President of the Rotary Club in Wentzville, Mo. John greatly enjoyed sports, especially football. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Alderson. John is survived by his wife, Joyce; three sons, Jay of Bethany, Mo., Glenn of Princeton, Mo., and Donald of Little Rock, Ark.; one granddaughter, Jessica Alderson; and one brother, Charles of Wichita, Kan. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Fri., July 27, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Victory Mission or Mtn. Grove Alumni Association.
