JOHN CASTLE EXPIRES AT HOSPITAL WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday morning of this week at about 1:30 A.M. John Castle passed wasy at the Alta Hospital. Mr Castle had been in poor health for the past six months or more. About a month ago his condition came more serious and was placed under a doctors care, later removed to the Alta Hospital. In spite of all efforts his condition gradually grew worse, until he passed away on Wednesday morning. Mr Castle was past 67 years old. Funeral services will be held from the First Methodist Church on Friday afternoon of this week at 2o'clock. Burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery.


THE GRIM REAPER

John Louis Castle, son of Louis and Katherine Castle was born at Columbus, Indiana, on Sept. 19, 1863. He cme to Iowa with his parents when but two years of age and settled at Mapleton, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. While a young man he lived on a farm, later taking up the carpenter trade. He wa united in marriage to Miss Zora P. Tadlock on September 14, 1892, at Onawa, Iowa, and lived at Mapleton, Iowa, until 1907 when they came to Alta where they lived until the time of his death. To this union eleven children were born, five dying in infancy. Those left to morn besides his wife are three boys and three girls, Donald E., Francis E., Woodrow W., Helen M., Mary N., and Charlotte C. all of Alta. Also three brothers and two sisters namely George castle of Titonka, Iowa Jesse Castle of New Catle, Colo, Wm. Castle of Souix City, Mrs Chas. Oms of Souix City, and Mrs Belle Hager of Springfield Missouri. Besides six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He passed away at the Alta Hospital at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 10 days. Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church Friday afternoon with Rev T Ernest Hoon in charge. Interment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta, Iowa.
