PIEDMONT, W.Va. -- William J. Codire, 80, of 156 West Fairview St., Piedmont, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. Born in Piedmont on April 19, 1921, he was the son of the late Robert Peter and Mary Ann (Keller) Codire. His brother, Robert Codire Jr. also preceded him in death. Mr. Codire was a United States Air Force veteran, having served during World War II. He was retired from Westvaco Corp., from the Quality Control Dept. Mr. Codire was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Md., a member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52, American Legion, Piedmont, and a former member of Tri-Towns Fire Co., Piedmont. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Julia (Mazzone) Codire. Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Jerome Dunn as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
