Kathleen Gidcumb, age 91, of Lakewood Lane, Marquette, died December 16, 2005 at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette.

She was born on February 10, 1914, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to the late Arthur and Delia Coffee. She attended Southern Illinois University and married Wayne B. Gidcumb of Harrisburg.

They were members of the first Baptist Church in Harrisburg where she taught third graders in Sunday school for many years.

Kathleen served on the Mitchell-Carnegie Public Library board for more than 15 years. She and Alice Barnes were two of the founding members of the Harrisburg Hospital Auxiliary in 1971. Over the next 25 years she donated 2, 235 hours of service to the auxiliary. The Harrisburg Medical Center invited her onto their board of directors in 1979 and she served on that board for 18 years. She also spent 10 years as a member of the advisory committee of Home Health Care in Saline County Illinois.

She was survived by two children, Constance (Daniel) Arnold of Marquette and Wayne D. Gidcumb of Springfield, IL; also four grandchildren and a sister, Christine (Byford) Wiley of Fairfield, IL.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, Wayne Gidcumb in 1996 and a sister, Connie Coffee.

Burial: Sunset Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois.
