Ida Lorena Centers parents were William Evans Centers and Frances Gage and her step mother was Emily Jane Thrush. Her full siblings were: Jessie May, Thomas William, Margaret Ellen, and Frances Rose Centers. Her half siblings were: Alfred, Walter Glenn, Walter Abraham, Dorothy Jane, Edward E., Rhoda Caroline, Raymond Evan, and Eleanor Centers. In 1891, Ida married James Franklin Huntley and their children together were: Ida Mae Huntley Knowlton, John Louis Huntley, James Franklin Huntley Jr, Harry Huntley, and William Lloyd Huntley. She lost her son William Lloyd as a toddler due to the influenza pandemic of 1918, and he is buried in Coos Bay, Oregon at Sunset Memorial Park. They raised their children on a homestead located on Wildcat Road in between Wildcat Creek and Deep Creek in Camas Valley, Oregon. Her husband died in a logging accident in 1929 and at this time she was living on another homestead in North Bend, Oregon. It was a seven acre parcel and it was located where the Pony Village Mall in North Bend is currently today. Her house was located in what is today the back corner of the parking lot behind Macy's. When she passed her children didn't think the property was worth much as it was so swampy so they let it go back to the state to avoid paying taxes. Her grandson, John Earl Huntley, was born in her home in North Bend, Oregon. He said she made strong coffee, so strong it was like mud, but she made it with love. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden and keeping her home. Ida was loved dearly by her children and grandchildren and the love she showed them was passed down to my generation in the fond stories of her memory. Ida went by the nicknames of both Rennie and Lori.
