Mrs. Burton, 91, Kansas City, died while surrounded by her family. She was born in Cedar County, the daughter of Charley and Lydia (Moss) Cox.
She worked as a home health aid and was a long time member of the Coventry Estates Baptist Church in Independence.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Zimmerman and husband Gary, Connie Reneau and husband David, Judy Miller and husband Terry, Reba Cerra and husband Joe, Cheryl Coble and Anita Ogle and husband Terry; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Burton in 1991; twin infant sons; and her parents Charley and Lydia.
Visitation was Saturday, July 13, at Coventry Estates Baptist Church. Services followed at the church, and burial was in Brasher cemetery near Jerico Springs under the directions of Speaks Suburban Chapel.
