What a unique, exotic-looking dog. She was a 3-year-old, petite Shepherd/Whippet-mix weighing only about 25 pounds. She loved children and got along with other dogs. Because she was athletic, she loved to play catch or go jogging, but she also had a mellow side and could just as easily curl up in your lap. She attended a mobile adoption event and got along well with people and the other dogs. Angel's volunteer-handler at the adoption event described her as, "Easy on leash; shy at first but comes out of her shell once she knows you; a lap dog; gentle treat-taker; very curious; easily entertained with rope toy; athletic; smart; alert; quiet; quizzical little face; would thrive in a calm, mellow home." At some point during her stay in the shelter, Angel began to become emaciated and was moved into isolation so that she could receive extra meals and medical attention from the shelter staff. Angel was being networked by dog rescuers, but she was not adopted in time. Angel was euthanized August 2, 2007, aged 3 years.
