Era Mae Stephens, 95, of Mantachie, died December 31, 2004, at Daniel Healthcare Inc. she was born Nov. 26, 1909 to Noonan Farrar and Mattie Birmingham Farrar. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mantachie. Services were at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Hope Chapel in Mantachie with burial in the Stephens Cemetery. Survivors include four sons and their spouses, Merwyn and Bobbie Stephens of Fulton, Max and Frances Stephens of Saltillo, Jimmy (Sonny) and Linda Stephens and Jerry and Christie Stephens, all of Mantachie; two daughters and their spouses, Myra and Carl Soden of Mantachie and Mattie Ann and Hal Ricketts of Watertown, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; five sisters, Norene Barksdale of Grenada, Johnnie Hale of Southaven, Paula Lytal of Baldwyn, Elise Hinds of Kirkville and Alice Rushing of Mantachie. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. E. "Gee" Stephens; one grandchild; 6 brothers and one daughter-in-law.
