Eber can be found in the "Official Roster of Soldiers from State of Ohio" and the Civil War soldiers:
"He enlisted as a Pvt. 18 April 1861, age 22, in the Ohio 4th Regiment, Co. H, a musician. He was promoted to Full Corporal on 16 May 1863; he was mustered out 21 June, 1864."
The sheet also said he was "POW".
