PROVASEK

Cecie Nell (Fikes) Provasek, 76, of Cameron and formerly of San Jose and Campbell, Calif. died Aug. 25 in a Rockdale nursing home. Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at the Oak Hill Pavilion in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron with Eugene VanNoord officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Provasek was born on Jan. 12, 1932 in Milam County to Ulrick and Ethel (Edmonds) Fikes. After graduating from C.H. Yoe High School in 1949, she worked for PC Association in Cameron and as a secretary and stenographer for the Texas Board of Cosmetology in Austin. She married Lionel (L. D.) Provasek on June 6, 1954 in Buckholts. They moved to San Jose Calif. in Dec. 1960. She was a member and Sunday school teacher with Calvin Presbyterian Church in San Jose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, John Kamenicky, step-brother, Marvin Kamenickey, brothers, Adrian and Edward (Sonny) Fikes, four sisters, Fayrene White, Adele Claxton, Norma Fikes and Evelyn Ruzicky, her brothers-in-law, James Evard, James Havlik, and sister-in-law, Mary Provasek.

Survivors include her husband, Lionel (L.D.) Provasek of Cameron; sons, Steven K. Provasek and wife, Jane, of San Jose, Calif. And Darrell D. Provasek and wife, Karen, of Federal Way. Wash.; daughter, Lisa DeAnn (Provasek) Glibas and husband, Geofrey, of Campbell, Calif.; sister, Flora (Mitcham) Childs of Hubbard; step-brothers, Johnny Kamenicky of Grants Pass, Ore., Albert Kamenicky of Temple; sister-in-law, Alice (Provasek) Evard of Cameron and Joyce (Provasek, Havlik) Wilkinson and husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Melvin Provasek and wife, Winona; grandchildren, Jenna, John, David and Bert Provasek, Kelly and Katie Glibas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron was in charge of arrangements.
