Billy Doyle Davis
(May 10, 1945 - August 29, 2008)

Billy Doyle Davis, 63, of Georgetown, gently took his Savior's hand and stepped into His glory on Friday, August 29, 2008.

Billy was born May 10, 1945 in Taylor to Georgetown residents Jessie Earl and Tennie Carlile Davis. He was a life-long resident of Georgetown and graduated from GHS in 1963. He married Kathy Priest on October 14, 1967. He was a member of Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ in Georgetown.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Rick Davis, his grandparents, Jesse R. and Hasse Paul Davis and Dock F. and Edna Pope Carlile, one sister-in-law, and five brothers-in-law.

As a beloved husband, and dad, Billy is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Donica Williams and her husband Brian and Darla Stone and her husband Jeff. As PawPaw, he is survived by Chad and Chelsea Williams and Lainey, Layton and Laysie Stone. The seventh of eight siblings, Billy Doyle is survived by Renan Davis, Earline Ischy, Shirley Barker, Glenda Yeatts and her husband John, Chuck Davis and his wife Ruth, and Nelda Everett all of Georgetown. Many nieces and nephews, and his aunt, Geneva Charlile Johnson of Bastrop, cherish their memories of him.

Billy was an avid supporter of all the sports in which his children and grandchildren were involved. Billy began working for Westinghouse before the plant now known as TECO Westinghouse was opened south of Georgetown. He was a valued employee there for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Texas National Guard. Of the many attributes that could be used to portray Billy, those that best exemplify him are loving and doting devotion, unlimited generosity, unending compassion, and a true friend. This man of integrity and honesty cannot be replaced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billy's memory to the Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ building fund, American Cancer Society or to Hospice Austin. The family wants to thank everyone for the kind words and acts, the cards of encouragement and sympathy, and the preparation of food on their behalf.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 1, 2008 from 6PM to 8PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N. IH35, Georgetown. A service celebrating Billy's life was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 10AM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel with Pastor, Shawn Montandon officiating. Interment followed at Berry Creek Cemetery.
