Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Barker Roach, 95-year-old respected and lifelong resident of Henry county, who died Thursday at her home near Axton, following a long decline in health, were held at the residence Friday afternoon. Interment followed in the family cemetery near the home. Mrs. Roach was long identified with the social and religious life of the Axton community where she was beloved and respected by relatives, neighbors and friends alike. She was a strong believer in the Primitive Baptist faith, and was probably the oldest living member of that denomination in this county at the time of her passing. Surviving are two daughters, Mesdames Rosa Earles and Ada Wells; six sons, J. R. Roach, R. T. Roach Sr., A. B. Roach, Lucian Roach, Howard Roach and the Rev. D. Frank Roach. A large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren also remain.
